CodeAndroid Malaysia was recently invited to a local PDA Geek Meet. The event was graciously hosted at Cantina @ Kota Damansara, a cosy restaurant offering great northern dishes.

The cool thing about this meetup was the presence of Android tablets. Not one, but two Froyo sporting tablets - the Samsung Galaxy Tab and CSL Mi700 DroidPad were brought over by an editor for Mobile World. I've written quick hands on for both the Samsung Galaxy Tab and CSL Mi700 Droidpad here and here respectively.

Raya Raya with an Android app for Malaysians
With Hari Raya around the corner, have you seen any Raya app in the market?
We know there's one in the Android Market! It's called Raya Raya. :-)
This app was developed by our Bernie from Code Android Malaysia.
It's useful for Buka Puasa reminder and reference.
You can select the state you are in to personalized the time.
You can even send pre-selected Raya greetings via MMS or email.
Some other useful references such as doa (prayers) are available as well.
You can set preferences for alert during Waktu Imsak or Berbuka too.
To all Muslims, we wish you a Selamat Hari Raya. Maaf Zahir Dan Batin.

MyMall app by Convep Mobility - Android versions released
MyMall apps by Convep Mobility is one of those apps which many Malaysian iPhones users might be familiar with, and no stranger to some, especially those who frequents shopping malls.
The MyMall apps series now has a series of Android apps.
This app allows you to search for shops from the mall directory, and to view its details.
It also has a function to view directions to the searched location from the nearest shop you are located at. (Unfortunately, during the test on Version 1.1, this function does not fully work yet.)
You can also get updates or news on ongoing and upcoming events as well as promotions happening at the mall.
Do note that some functions would require you to be a registered user and personal details during registration is requested.
Search for them in the Android Market with 'MyMapp' or with 'pub:Convep Mobility'.
